A SAUNTER DOWN SAVILE ROW.......

I've been remiss in my posting, but my excuse is a lovely new commission for a residential property in Hampstead.  So far, so good.  Nice client with good taste and a great sense of humour - perfect.  More information will be filtered through as I start sourcing fabrics, finishings and furniture.  For now, an update on some of the things that have made my heart flutter over the last few weeks......

I hooked up with a very old friend of mine from back in the day when we worked at Marlborough Fine Art together.  It was fantastic to catch up with Laurent Delaye after all these years and to see his wonderful gallery on Savile Row.  Discreetly tucked away above the old school tailors on the famous row, Laurent has gathered some great work.  Here are some of my favourites..........

Robyn Denny / Nowhere 3  1969-70
 Perry Roberts / Untitled 2007

Michael Stubbs / Virus Xtender 2007

Bill Culbert / Total 1990

Now all I have to do is persuade the client that they need at least one of the above!

Walking back to the car, I popped in to Haunch of Venison London - always a favourite.  I just caught the exhibition of Korean artist Meekyoung Shin before it closed.  What a pleasurable experience.  Calm and warm is the only way I can describe the atmosphere as you walked through her show.  The main room featured this.........

Would have happily sat amongst the coloured glass for ages, but the fear of the dreaded Westminster traffic warden dragged me away.  I'll be back to Haunch of Venison tomorrow for the PV of the Wim Wenders photographic exhibition - can't wait!
